And the one I tested tracked a little better than the Hawke higher end scopes I've used .To each their own I guess and no matter which one you pick I'm sure you will like it.so I went for the 6-24x tactical MOA reticle.Man, picking a scope is harder than finding the gun!Im just curious why people need even 16x? I don't like the turrets on any Athlon scopes, but I have yet to find a Vortex optic that I didn't like. i havent had time to shoot it yet. all the reviews were good and it seems like it should track fine. If I didn't have it in my budget for the higher priced scopes I could roll with the Vortex and be very happy .I have Athlon Midas TAC 6-24×50 FFP with APRS2 mil reticle. It really is a good scope.Ok so looks like I'm getting somewhere, I think I have it for to either the sightron s tac ffp or the athlon ares BTR ffp. The picture is very clear and sharp even at 24x magnification and parallax starts from 10 yards, which is good.    Bigger is better for image......I can shoot quicker with less magnification,a clearer view is a better view, some big scopes look dumb on some rifles, sleek is neat and usually handles better.....Match the scope to the rifle and the rifle to field of use or visa versa, either way you want you combination to look as good as they perform plus it shows you know it isn't how big it is it is butt how it gets the job done.Hoping Joe will have an opinion on this. The reticle is etched but also illuminated for eye-catching ease. The MOA Argos doesn't have the Christmas reticle which I'll never understand. Thus, unless you really want to, the Argos is more than enough. At first sight, the Argos 10x42 is quite a compact binocular. Specifically their 5-24x50 with the Skeleton HMD reticle. I would pick the one that has the features and reticle you like best .Another for the Vortex , I really like all my ones . I just like the Vortex best , I think maybe it just has the edge.    Bigger is better for image……I can shoot quicker with less magnification,a clearer view is a better view, some big scopes look dumb on some rifles, sleek is neat and usually handles better…..Match the scope to the rifle and the rifle to field of use or visa versa, either way you want you combination to look as good as they perform plus it shows you know it isn't how big it is it is butt how it gets the job done. You finally decide which one you like more. So it’s no wonder that the Athlon vs Vortex question has come up multiple times for us when people are searching for a optic on the site. Not a bad deal, only slightly more expensive than the Argos considering the sun shade was an add on for the Athlon. Apart from its compact design, it is also ergonomic. Also, the Bushnell has multi-coated lenses while the Argos has fully multi-coated optics.
the only vortex scope i have is a gen 1 PST 2.5-10. i'd give the edge to the vortex but it was also double the price. It reminds me to get everything right before pulling the trigger. My opinon is, that Vortex and Athlon are both great choises. For despite its relatively affordable price tag it has tons of useful features. They're upgrading all their turrets soon after the success of the Ares ETR turrets, from what I've heard.Athlon - has Zero Stop Shim Kit included. This past Saturday I shot them literally side by side.

That was nice scope too, but not quite at the same level than the Midas TAC.I have had a scope or two from all three brands and they all preformed great with great build quality but I personally go with who has the best warranty anymore and that would be Vortex which has an unconditional warranty no matter who owns it at the time it breaks, gets dropped, ran over or lighting strikes it.You must be logged in to reply to this topic. Thanks that's the one I'm leaning towards but the lower mag version, 16x will be enough for me up to 100 yards. That's just my opinion. These twist-up eyecups allow you to adjust their height up to 16.1mm.
I’ll be honest I wasn't looking forward to reviewing Athlon optics. Like the 16X so I can see my "heartbeat" moving the reticle. I was considering between Athlon Midas TAC, Vortex Diamondbac Tactical and new Sightron S-TAC and finally i ended up with Athlon.i wanted the vortex but for some reason only the higher power 6-24x had the parallax adjust down to 10 yards. The thin hinges provide more surface area for one-handed carrying, which is really nice.According to Athlon, they use a polymer composite chassis to make this binocular.
