All Right Reserved.During our two day adventure we were able to cover a lot of water and fish different areas between the two groups. It doesn’t get much better.Our first spot didn’t produce any results, but we knew the fish had to be close. We tried of few different colors, below are the colors that we used and how we did with each one.I hope this information is valuable to you in some way or another. This was an all-round great weekend fishing trip. Here are the areas where we had the most success:The two coves just west of the Rabit Gulch campgrounds ended up producing some nice smallmouth bass. All Right Reserved.We got a later start than we were hoping for and anchored down at our first spot around 8 am. This change ended up being a game changer and we spent the rest of the day anchored in this spot.I hope this information is valuable to you in some way or another. The largest rainbow trout that we caught was just over 5 pounds with most of the trout being in the 2-3 lb range. From there we headed straight across the lake and fished a spot that we call the sunken island. Here are the baits we used to catch fish at Starvation Reservoir, and how we did with each one.If we had made a big move and ran across the lake to a different spot I don’t think we would have got into them like we did. @2019 - TILT FISHING. Just by moving our boat about 30 yards was the reason we had so much success.I started the day off fishing a set up that had smaller leader. We caught some big rainbows and some small walleye here. The size of the fish ranged from12 -18 inches. This is a good spot for rainbows and you can even catch an occasional brown. However, it didn’t quite give us the results we were used too, but we still caught some decent fish here. We caught browns, rainbows and some walleye all with a jerkbait.Starvation Reservoir is a great reservoir that provides anglers with some awesome fishing opportunities. But the biggest fish of the trip was a walleye caught on a small crankbait that weight over 7 pounds. We gave our first spot about an hour until we made a slight adjustment and moved towards the bank about 30 yards. The pontoon group fish in rabbit gulch with some fair success and were able to catch a some smaller rainbows.We caught over 40+ rainbow trout and a nice brown trout during our two day adventure. The map now contains brown squares outlining nearby US Topo Map quadrants. We had more time to fish the second day but, the bite seemed to be a little slower. We caught some nice smallmouth bass and rainbow trout fishing a jerkbait. I have been on a lot of fishing trips and few have treated as well as our recent trip to Starvation Reservoir. PowerBait was the ticket. He has participated and won fishing tournaments all over the country and enjoys fishing for bass, trout, walleye and other species.We didn’t’ have a ton of success fishing cranbaits but we did manage to catch a nice walleye on a white crankbait which ended up being the biggest fish of the trip.The second day we split into two groups: one group was on a pontoon boat and the other was on my small bass boat. A storm was rolling in so I wondered if that through off the bite a bit. It’s well known as one of Utah’s premier walleye fisheries, but it also is home to some nice trout and some smallmouth bass.
